Florida Real Estate Sales Associates Licensing Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma.
- Successfully complete pre-licensing FREC I course consisting of 63 classroom hours.
- Submit a completed application, fingerprint card, and appropriate fee ($152) to Department of Professional Regulation (may submit package prior to completing FREC I course).
- Must be honest, trustworthy, of good character, have a good reputation for fair dealing and be competent and qualified to make real estate transactions and negotiations.
- After approval by the state, you may then apply to the state approved test vendor: Promissor who currently charges $31.50 to take the exam (Toll free number 1-888-204-6289). You must pass the Real Estate Sales Associate examination with a score of at least 75.
- You will get your score immediately at the exam site from Promissor.
- Submit a completed RE 2050-1 form to activate your license otherwise your license is issued in an inactive status. If you want to immediately start working as a real estate sales associate, submit the completed RE 2050-1 form at the examination site. Otherwise submit the RE 2050-1 form to the Division of Real Estate.

Real Estate Broker License Requirements
- Must be a licensed Real Estate Sales Associate with at least 12 months experience working for a broker during the five years preceding application for broker license
- Must complete the Sales associates post licensing 45-hour course
- Must complete the Broker course (FREC II 72 hour course)
- Must be a Florida resident for four calendar months or more within the preceding year
- Submit a completed broker application, fingerprint card, and appropriate fee ($162) to Department of Professional Regulation
- Must pass the state license examination with a score of at least 75
- Broker licensees must complete a post-licensing education requirement of 60 hours.
